After leaving Reading University (College of Estate Management, London W8) with a Degree in 1971, Peter Dunbar spent three years with Chestertons in the City of London office, gaining experience in all aspects of commercial property, leading to Membership of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors in 1973. From 1973 to 1982 worked with Samuel Properties plc, a leading quoted Development Company, working on multimillion pound commercial development projects, leaving as a Director in 1982 to set up Dunbar Associates, a Project Management and Building Consultancy Practice. Clients have included major occupiers and developers of all kinds of buildings, from major shopping centres (Stirling Thistle Centre for Standard Life), regional office headquarters (in Chelmsford for occupation by Norwich Union), and fitting out 65,000ft2 (in London EC4 for Century Life plc). Other occupier Clients included Schering-Plough Inc at Osterley and Marriott International’s new London offices, Knightsbridge.
As well as paying close attention to the detail of both the Client’s brief and design / construct process, Peter Dunbar’s wide experience brings a keen sense of commercial reality to a project with the prime objective that it is finished on time and within budget.
